My daughter is visiting her grandparents for the weekend so I have the house to myself! After cooking a dinner that I wanted to eat, and watching a TV show that I wanted to watch, and having my own private Taylor Swift dance party in the kitchen, I finally got to open a Fed Ex box that has been sitting around for weeks. It's Trajan! My third Roman emperor. I really like it, especially the reverse because it is more dynamic than most. I guess it makes sense that Trajan chose to honor Mars on this denarius; as the victor of several major military engagements he had a lot to be thankful for.

I'm getting there. By the list I'm using only 76 more emperors to go ...

I think this one is my favorite Trajan, issued to commemorate the Via Traiana.

I decided to save Caligula for last. His cost a fortune! o_O

    I’m the same.

My most recent purchase was the Quadrigatus I shared with everyone.

I won it at auction on July 7th.

Then I was pacing around trying to be patient until it finally shipped on the 16th.

So I had to wait through the entire weekend with USPS saying it would be delivered Monday.

    Well...that didn’t happen.

Lately USPS has become a joke and I wish more companies would give customers the option of UPS/FedEx. I would gladly pay a little bit more for that.

It came Tuesday instead and I had lost all patience and ended up running down to the mailbox and ripping the package open before I even got home xD

Excellent Trajan denarius. A true beauty!
Mine are not a match but getting Trajan coins is one of the main goals in my collection.
    Here are mine

Very first denarius, in a poor state, but I was extremely happy to get it in my very first lot, described as "bronze coins"

A quadrans - turned out to be quite rare (RIC 693)

First Trajan denarius I bought individually - with Pietas

    and a dupondius with Abundantia.

Trajan offers a very wide area of coins, honoring historical events, large variety of reverses ... so most likely I will not stop, especially since there are some Trajan coins on my wish list.

W...w..wait, WHAT? So everyone doesn’t tear open their shipments on the way from the mail box to the door???

Just kidding:) Coingrats, @savitale It is a beautiful coin. I like the reverse very much. The movement in the figure makes it a bit «dynamic». And great detail on the coin too. Fun to see how you are building the collection.

I've been working on properly cataloging our collection and as part of that, have been reimaging all of the coins. I worked on Trajan a few days ago. This is one of the first ancients we bought and is still one of my favorites for the cameo look it has:
