    Okay here's a unique thread . Post a Coin during or just after a War in U.S history such as the Civil War , Revolutionary War, World War 1 or 2 .
    I'll go first - 1864 Two - Cent Piece . TAKEN FROM (DUG) THE SITE OF A SOLDIERS HOME . ( WITH PERMISSION)

    Interesting.
    The posts have the Civil War and WWII covered.

    We need some from:
    -- the War of 1812
    -- the Spanish American War (1898)
    -- WWI (1914-1919); only 1918/1919 for the US
    -- the Mexican/American War (date?)

    And then there were the more recent ones:
    -- the Korean War
    -- Vietnam
    -- Afghanistan

    Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

    Yes. I was shaking like a leaf when I dug it up ! I still can't believe it . Even though it's not in the greatest shape, I believe it's still desirable .

    I saw this set at a coin show many years ago and bought it because I thought it was neat.

    And here is something that is a bit different. This a "web" that was left over after the planchets for wartime steel cents were punched out of the strip of metal.
