2001 Circulating $1 Coin Sacagawea on Direct Ship

    Shockingly, the US Mint has put the 2001 Sacagawea coin on Direct Ship.

    That is a nine year old coin.

    The Mint must have a zillion of them.

    Yes I picked up a couple of rolls of 2001 Kennedy Halves a few years ago they did the same thing, I usually check the US Mint site daily. Good Catch

    .....i guess it's an attempt to at least get the COLLECTOR to help circulate

    them. the gov isn't doing any advertising to try and move them. they just

    keep storing them and minting even MORE small non-circulating dollar coins.

    at the same time using up copper! my rant for the day.

    Last weeks coin world said there was a 12 year supply at the Fed.I think they had 897million in there vaults

    I received the 2001 Sacagawea today and the 2010 Native American coins.

    The 2010 came in the standard 'String & Son' wrappers. The coins were beautiful. I will have fun spending these.

    The 2001, however, came in official US mint wrappers. All were from Philly.
    The end coins were all spotted and hazed over. The inside coins were in excellent condition. I will probably keep one roll and spend the rest.
