Sorry I am ignorant on the subject... Concerned about the green on severus' head. It doesn't seem to be powdery as ive read it should be but I was able to scape a tiny bit off with a toothpick. Is this anything to worry about? Or just a green patina?

    The REV for good measure:

I'm NO Bronze expert but after looking at other coins I believe it is "Bronze Disease" .

That is unwelcome news! I don't know what to do about this! I wouldn't want to strip away the other patinas which are quite nice... if possible.

As a Metal Detectorist , I have had a lot of Copper Finds that have been found and All I do is use a toothpick with oil to remove the top of the patina . I wish you the best of luck .

If it is not powdery and easily removed then it's probably not bronze disease. I would store it in a low humidity environment like 40% humidity or less and see what happens.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. It doesn't look like bronze disease.

Just let the coin sit out somewhere so that you will see it often, and keep an eye on it. If it is BD, you will see the power build up over the course of a couple of weeks, almost like a fungus, and you will be able to brush it off with your finger. I don't see anything like this building up on your coin from the photos.

Looks like patina. As others have said, if it comes off with some light rubbing, then it is BD, if not, leave it be.

It doesn’t look like bronze disease, but this powdery patina may develop into it. (?)
I use distilled water, then baking the coin in the over, and after that I use a soft nylon brush to remove dry and loose deposits.

Ask Donna, if anyone would know it would be her. Good luck.
