Two new Lincoln pickups from last week.

 

What i believe is an 1808 Overton 103. A nice crusty original f/vf half. In hand the reverse has a goldish hue at certain points that my camera doesn't seem to want to capture. IMO a very nice half!

Usually, you're right with your DMs, but you missed on this one. Nice coin, though, and actually a slightly tougher DM than the one you thought.

This is the 103. Check out the D to E relationship on the reverse.

Edit to add...after looking back over the thread I neglected to post this back in January when I got her. So, she actually qualifies for this thread.

1817 and if I'm right, O-109

 

I picked up this nickel a couple weeks ago

 

Yes, it seems to be O-109. 1817 is a better date, I am still looking for a regular 1817 Bustie and all overdates.

 

It's a 109--possibly 109A. I think I see most of the die cracks for the A model, but am unsure they are all there. Both die states are rated as R-3, so for most people which state you call it would be irrelevant.

And yes, your 1817 is also 109.

 

A friend encouraged me to buy this one. I still need both Seated Dollar types in my NGC set (with and w/o motto) that’s why I had to buy it :-D

What about the 1808 being an O 108. I was looking it over and I think it may be the O108a based on the die crack on the reverse???

The 1808 108 and the 109 share the same reverse die. One can tell by the striations in the L of LIBERTY that this is obverse die 9 for the year--used on O-109.
