When the Lincolns first came out me and another fellow CTer sold about a rolls worth for over $200. These are no longer selling for what they once were. The ship has already sailed on these. I am sure that these will still sell for a few bucks more than one without the variety. I am still not convinced that these are doubled dies, but rather a die chip or die break of some sort.
I don't know, guess I have to go with the experts who say they are the new type of double dies based on current hubbing techniques. There are so many different DDR's centered around Lincoln's hand, which do you feel are the most desirable? Guess I like WDDR-001/CDDR-002 best, but haven't seen them all.
I agree 100%. I found one of these extra fingers and to me it looks just like a die chip, but again according to this site it is something else. I am not sure.
I guess whatever they turn out to be, a double die or chip, they're kinda cool, especially the ones that show more of a 6th finger. Does anyone know if there are estimates as to the numbers made of each variety? I would imagine each variety was produced from a unique die and most of the dies where used for a "full run", unless it was retired early because of a problem, thus creating some with lower populations. Are there any varieties that are tougher to find?
I just had 20 close on EBay this morning for $3-$4 a coin... this was the CDDR-026 which is a pretty neat one. I have been steadily selling them on EBay since finding a total of over 1000 coins of 3 different doubled dies.
