If its any consolation, all these spammers and more registered on Antiquers.com https://www.antiquers.com/forums/ around 2 hours ago they then created multiple ID's from each initial ID. I managed to zap them all before any posts were made. I suppose they thought July 4th was a good day to attack but we have other moderators in other countries where today is just another Sunday
It happens from time to time. The mods here do a good job keeping it under control but there are only a handful of them and they aren't on all the time...so sometimes it takes a minute.
It amazes me that these people take the time to do this. I rate this with the junk phone calls I get all the time despite the fact that I am on the "do not call" list. I would never buy anything from these people, let alone a drug to put in my body.
I’m not sure how all this “bot” action works, such as, does the robot have the capability to create new member names on Coin Talk? I don’t think so. A person has to create it, then they piggyback the automated into threads…I think…Spark
They have software that are designed to "attack" message boards. It can create a new account and then post its content. Forum software tries to combat this by creating measures to ensure that a real person is signing up. For example, some use a CAPTCHA that needs to be manually read filled out...others give a series of photos and instructs someone to click on every photo that contains something (a traffic light for example). But, the bot software is ever improving and it's a battle to keep them at bay.
I too, was on here earlier this morning and witnessed the lame attack upon this site. I reported the incursions as well..........hats off to the mods for dealing with the numb skulls............
