What do you guys think about this 1882-cc Morgan Dollar. I was thinking VG, but I'm kind of new to collecting. What do you think the grade/value is?
I'm a beginner but based on wear, it seems to most closely match the f-15 pictures I see in my 6th edition ANA Grading Guide. There are some scratches though, and I'm not sure how much they affect the grade. I'm sure more experienced graders will chime in, though (to your benefit).
I'm not sure about F-15 it doesn't have the details in the feathers, and the wreath. I am using the same grading guide, look closely at the descriptions, and the pictures. This is not a F15 coin.
From what I can see I'd grade the coin at a G4. Maybe I'm not good at looking at the ANA grading standards book either  Very minimal difference in G4 to VG8 when it comes to value, doesn't matter a whole lot. If I was looking at it again I'd say a VG8, but still doesn't meet qualifications for a fine, based on what I can see. I'd love bigger pictures of the obverse to say for sure though
I would rate it an F12 but the scratches may lower it to an VG8. I can't see anything that would lower it to G4. I bought an 82CC last year for $70 on ebay that was in slightly worse condition than your coin. I would think that it could go as high as $90 in today's ebay market.
OK! Try looking at this coin http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=1132&Lot_No=8487 or this one http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=1132&Lot_No=8569. The OP's coin has details these coins have not seen in years of circulation. Granted, bigger picture would help, but I see full rims and feather details long gone on the example I listed.
I would say a 10. Tmoney- to me that coin has too much wing detail to be a 4. That isnt the only reason but it sticks out to me.
