I have a lot of ammonites from the Lake Texoma area of Texas. I really enjoyed "the hunt" and also enjoy looking at my ancient specimens from time to time!
Post surgical dilemma…… Do I move the cute dog or do I stand here on crutches fumbling around with my phone to take photos of the cute pup?
May as well get it over with and post the 2nd and only other of my 300 or so Morgans that I have photos of...and originally were the seller's photos at that. Since I did something right with the technical process of posting the 1881-CC recently , here's a post-post...of an 1885-CC...not quite as good as the '81 from a grading standpoint with the face chatter, but maybe better for those who like some nice toning (not generally for me, but acceptable now/then...prefer an off-white to champagne color as most of my others are).
I don't know why that appears in multiples...didn't do that with the other and mostly doesn't...but once in a while this happens. I gotta believe it's a glitch on/in your end but I really don't know. Sorry.
It’s called Bismuth. It’s man made in a lab in Germany. It’s the stuff that Pepto-Bismol is made of. I find it very unique. This example shows blue, pink, gold and green which are the main colors.
I should say the first photo is a fossilized snail shell that pyrite covered and the lady photo is a Chrysanthemum flower. The fossilized snail shell with pyrite is from Germany and the chrysanthemum flower is from China. The example from China is no longer available as the Chinese government built a huge dam and flooded the site.
The little chuweenies passed about a year a go. The shepherd mix, 2 years ago. The Pit mix is hanging around taking care of our 2 new chuweenies. They are always in my heart.
Thanks to all that likes my pooch. Her name is Samantha. A neighbor had a dog that had 7 puppies. Six looked like Lab mix and are male. Samantha was the only female and the other puppies would not let her get to mama to eat. After watching that for 2 days, I kidnapped her. She was under nourished and very weak. My wife took her out of my arms and fed Samanta with eyedroppers. She called our Vet at about midnight and got him out of bed. She told the Vet that if he didn't meet her at the office and check the newborn out, she was going to tell everyone that he was a quack. (He knew we wouldn't do it, but he did meet us at his office. After an exam and several shots and take-home medicine, he told us that if we hadn't gotten her when we did, she probably wouldn't have lived much longer being malnourished. She also has a scar on her right cheek because the other puppies kept pushing her against the chain link fence she was in. Anyway, thanks for your comments, from part owners of 6 dogs and a cat and a malnurished husband.
If you click the image you will see this wording. Of course I had to Google it and it made a lot of sense. I know many similar methods are used to achieve the same purpose but this wording seems to be unique to British coins, or is it. I assume it is Latin or Greek from the ancient times; so many governments may use the same wording. I did not dig deeper. Who can expound on this further. (seems like an odd place to position these words for the intended purpose)?
…for any who want to know, it means “ornament and safeguard”. This should keep 400 googles from happening…Spark
Just wanted to add it is a especially beautiful coin, thanks for posting. I don’t know anything else about why it is used, but am eagerly awaiting a UK expert to chime in…imo…Spark
I want you to know I had to scroll through 100s of really offensive meme's to find this one for you (really need to clean out that folder lol)
