Sorry if I missed some regular posters; the video was made a year ago. Nothing personal, I even forgot MY OWN NAME ! :wacky:

@Ocatarinetabellatchitchix it wast just a joke, probably I wasn't even active on CT when that video was made (I know it's for the previous space auction :D)

Again good luck for all. I quickly browsed through the coins, there are some I like and I could afford, but I am taking a break in new acquisitions :)

That is awful. It is 7:40pm here and a balmy 93*F (Feels like 98*F). It was hotter earlier today.
Not as bad as when I was deployed to Djibouti in the summer...but still unpleasant.

Also, I just finished scanning all the auction goodies and put a bunch on my watch list. I'm not sad to hear that a couple contenders have already tapped out. Maybe I will get 1 or 2. There are 2 especially that I have my eye on. I have a feeling they will go for much more than I can afford though.

I wish everybody luck in their bidding. My collecting is on a slow down at the moment as I attempt to sort through the existing hoard to allow me to trim it down to sensible levels and to focus properly on my main collecting areas. Amongst the Jedi masters that appear in the list I feel like the only one who would be turning up with a plastic light sabre. I think I will be watching this one from the sidelines.

Who else is so excited for AMCC 3? I haven't purchased many ancients since the pandemic started, but I think that is about to change. :) Love the selection and variety.

By the way, AMCC 3 has the biggest number of lots out of all 3 auctions.

Here's my latest acquisition from FORVM :D.

@Caesar_Augustus . Just FYI I can provide some previous provenance for that coin as I recognise it. It is ex-maridvnvm collection. I am glad that it found a good home.

C.A., Nice score ! This coin looks like an upgrade compared to the example you have in AMCC 3, with much original silvering ;).

Browsing the catalogue, I was excited to discover that this Faustina is not alone anymore:
Rom – Faustina I, As, Vesta (neues Foto).png
Faustina “the Elder” (postumous), Roman Empire, As or Dupondius, 141 AD, Rome mint. Obv: DIVA FAVS[TINA], bust of Faustina, veiled, r. Rev: [A]VGUST[A], Vesta standing l., holding palladium and sceptre; in fields flanking, SC. 27mm, 9.05g. RIC III Antoninus Pius 1179 var. (veiled bust); Dinsdale 021525 (this coin).

Prior to AMCC 3, mine was the only known example pairing this reverse with a veiled bust on the obverse. My coin is the one cited by Dinsdale. I had assumed that it was a singular accidental mule. Yet the fact that now finally a second example has surfaced (AMCC 3, lot 219) makes this theory appear rather unlikely. Fascinating!

(For the moderators: I am not the consignor of the coin for sale, and since this is of special numismatic interest, I deemed it acceptable to refer to a coin currently up for auction. Please delete my post should I nonetheless have violated any forum rules.)

Thanks Martin, I'll send you a PM later today. :)

Keen eye, Al Kowsky! :D Though it was not meant as an upgrade. I did want to lean down my collection as I start saving up so I consigned many high-quality coins from my collection. The one I'm really going to miss is that Alexandria follis of Constantius. Hope it finds a great new home.
