I accept that it´s possible to translate [massáah], standing (eagle), or tribute?. You can anso translate [mesóah] or imagine that´s the link with the city of Emesa, but there isn´t Elagabalus.

You can comprove that I´ve been working at your coins and now I give you my hebrew modern transliteration from your Avrelianvs coin.







Their text ist one ancient law, "nç gd npsy ro / ç gd ng pdy lsrg jqmy", could be read [nes gad násapi ráah] [za gad nógah padai lasarag juqami], and only shows one sentence about this man [ráah], a villain.

Legendum in this case is "nz", with sade, and not çayin; they have the same sound [nes] or [nez].

I agree with you about value of symbol "sms" on disseny. In my opinion, sun was used to translate "sms", in a second reading, not evident, may be masorétic.

The conversation in this thread is difficult to follow but I wanted to comment that the original post is great, very interesting stuff.

 

Honestly, isnt there something we can do about this guy? How many threads does he have to spout complete nonesense in before he is booted? If people are searching for info on ancients and they are new, they might errantly think ANYTHING this guy has said in ANY post he has made is correct while he hasnt posted one correct bit of information about any coin he has commented on. Just absurd.

 

Are you claiming that this Roman coin is in fact not Roman nor is it written in Latin, but rather is some kind of ancient Jewish coin written in a form of ancient Hebrew?

 

I don't see anything here that would cause him to be booted, unless you think it is trolling, which I am not yet convinced of.

I think the best response is to refute the nonsense spouted so that anyone new who reads it understands that it is the incoherent ramblings of one individual who disagrees with the entirity of the collecting community as well as all of the experts in the field.

May I ask why you do not belive this is Antoninus Pius, and why do you belive its an "actor"? and pardon me fo asking, what do you mean by actor and villin?

 

I'd ask similar questions about this one as well, I clearly see his name, "NERO," and recognize the portrait as Nero as well.

 

Certainly if there was ever an emperor who WASNT a villain, he would come the closest IMO.

This has to do with a Myth concerning Janus and Romulus, the short of it is that the doors of the Janus (place of Janus) where opened when there is war and closed when there is peace. Nero is saying that the doors are closed and announcing there is peace.
