Back a year or two someone in here nicely ID'ed the Overton Number for my 50¢ 1795 Flowing Hair in VF-20 as an O-117. I'm trying to put a value on it from the Grey Sheet but they don't price half dollars by Overton Number. Here's what they have for the 1795: -- 2 leaves -- Recut Date; 3 leaves -- Small Head -- Recut Date; 2 leaves -- A over E in STATES Which Grey Sheet description would an O-117 fall under? And for GP's here are the images:
Definitely one of the "2 leaves". -- 2 leaves -- Recut Date; 3 leaves -- Small Head -- Recut Date; 2 leaves -- A over E in STATES
If it is a o-117O, then it is an R-3. So for 1795, common Use the generic values. But, double check the Overton # I don't see the RPD
Thanks, all. I've got Parsley's book but haven't really had any practice using it. And I don't have immediate access to this particular coin. It's in a safe deposit box at the bank. So all I have is the image I've shown and it must have been one of my early photo attempts considering its lack of sharpness.
