I haven't posted in this forum for ages as I moved and started collecting other things. Enjoy a little sample of a Funan stash found in an old market district in an ancient city.

Very cool! I've never seen the type. Around what time period are they from? And did you find those yourself??

Wow this is an incredible group! It's really cool to see these in such large numbers. May I ask where they were discovered? The rising sun coins used to be widely attributed to Funan, modern south Vietnam, but in recent times it seems to have shifted towards modern Burma who Funan imported them from. I see a handful of variants that are mostly attributed to old cities in Burma, too. Super cool silver coins, I don't have any of the larger coins yet but I do have a handful of these tiny bracteate coins (only 0.03 grams!) that are attributed to the kingdom of Michen along the Gulf of Martaban.

These coins are not my find, but I did support their "expedition" and received a nice collection of coins . I follow treasure hunters and constantly buy things that are found. I thought you would approve. I personally picked up 15 for about a thousand dollars. I have a metal detector here, but the people who find this stuff are a little more intense than I am.
