It depends what the dates are, what the realistically expected grades are and the values of the expected grades. Often, rolls of coins aren't worth getting graded, because, simply put, the grades obtained don't make the coins worth spending the fees on. The quality isn't necessarily good just because the coins are in rolls, and in fact, certain dates are likely not to be good quality.

No, it is not smart to submit an unc roll and HOPE "to get some good grades.'

Do you know anything about grading and the grading standards used by the TPG of your choosing? Can you spot altered or boinked with surfaces?

If you answer no to any of these Q's then it is a really bad idea.

what dates would you recommend to get graded? would you get a mint roll or just get some individual unc coins?

Based on your questions, it sounds as if you are out to try to make easy money but don't have knowledge about what coins are worth getting graded or how to grade them. If that is the case, you will almost cetainly waste/lose money by submitting coins at this point.

If your reasoning for getting them slabbed is that they are uncirculated rolls, then it is not only not smart, but it is dumb. You would wind up spending $15 per coin (if you are luck to get it that cheap) and wind up with a coin you can sell for $7 with some luck. If you know something about these coin you are not letting us in on, then we need more info to answer your question.

You do not send coins in to grade because they are a certain date, you send them in because they are a certain grade. Granted, that grade varies a bit according to the date, but the primary driver is the grade.

I'd look at the dates and see what MS-67-69's are going for. If less than $35 or so, you might not get back your grading costs.

And maybe get 4 or 5 rolls and cherry pick the good ones. But that is assuming you can pick the 68's and have a good eye for it.
That should help make your return better I'd think.

get 4 or 5 rolls and pick out the best 1 or 2 coins.

Business strike dime rolls from 2005 to present. The rolls are cheap and the high grades bring big bucks (if you can find them).

you will not find any 68's in rolls unless you search a HUGE amount of rolls.

would you go with silver dime rolls?

no, "p" and "d" bank rolls like these

...but look for a lower price.

It may be hard to find ms 67's though and you may have to search quite a few rolls. You may need practice looking at coins and picking out the really high grade ones. Are you clear on what you are looking for?
