The US Mint sent this email out tonight. During the initial pre-order window for the Morgan & Peace Dollars, the Mint experienced an extraordinarily high volume of BOT traffic. These BOTs were programmed to conduct technology-driven transactions which caused significant interference with many transactions by Mint customers. To address the issue, the Mint paused the pre-order windows for the remaining Morgan and Peace products until the BOT issues could be resolved. The Mint has now identified a solution that we expect will mitigate most of the issues caused by BOT traffic. Although we are working diligently to put that solution in place, the launch dates for American Eagle Silver and Gold Coins will also be affected. To further increase the opportunity to purchase these high demand products, the Mint will also adjust the household order limits for the new American Eagle Silver and Gold Coins and the remaining Morgan and Peace silver dollars. While these steps will mitigate the impact of BOT traffic and improve overall access to these very popular products, the supply of silver still limits the U.S. Mint’s ability to completely satisfy demand. As a result, not everyone will be able to purchase the coins of their choice. The revised launch schedules are presented below. Please note the decision to move the American Eagle Silver and Gold product launches ahead of the remaining Morgan and Peace pre-order windows. This decision was based on the Morgan and Peace products’ unavailability to ship until October. Moving up the American Eagle products creates the least disruption for our customers. Our intent is to greatly improve on our ability to deliver the utmost positive U.S. Mint experience that our customers deserve. The launch dates for the newly-redesigned American Eagle Silver and Gold Coins are as follows: American Eagle SILVER PROOF COIN – W (21EAN), originally scheduled to go on sale 7/1, will now go on sale 7/20 American Eagle GOLD PROOF 1 OZ (21EBN), GOLD PROOF 1/2 OZ (21ECN), GOLD PROOF 1/4 OZ. What I would like to know how this will effect the "Enrollments" I just looked at the mints web site 2021-W ASE new design date was changed but the maximum for the Enrolment is still at 25. This could be another cluster bomb ( almost used a different word ) by our generous friends at the US Mint.
Can any of you guys who have accounts, and can pre order with the mint, grab me a W mint mark anything? I'm good for it, i swear. I've got this new obsession with everything W and there's no way I'll ever get one. You can ask around, I'm legit.
Who wants reproductions of real coins? I own real Morgans and Peace Dollars. If I wanted knock-offs of celebrated coins, I would not have sold my Dan Carr collection. He does a better job of reproducing the original designs than the US mint does.
Ok, I found a W mint mark coin: https://catalog.usmint.gov/american-eagle-2020-one-ounce-palladium-uncirculated-coin-20EK.html Are you sure you want only one? There's no household limit on this one... And yeah, I can confirm what LakeEffect found - every enrollment signup is blocked with a 'TBD'.
I’m still down in enrollments for the silver Eagle proofs — one each as I had set them some time back.
Am I the only one who picked up on this? And the paper price dropped from a 28 handle to 26 in a matter of hours. Does this sound like a commodity that is in limited supply?
Yes, because the word "planchets" is clearly stated in the wonderful U.S. Mint information release, that is also worthy of the Mark Twain Clarity Award, because of course silver and silver planchets mean the same thing in the U.S. Mint process. Or not.
You can call them knock-offs if you want. They are still very popular coins. I made the mistake of only buying 5 each of the 'CC' and 'O' 2021 Morgans. With the next batch limited to 3, I will be getting the max this go round.
I have a CC and 4 O privy coming . Only wanted one of each but the mint site kept crashing . I would like to have one of each just to have . Though I wish they where 90% silver .
