If a billionaire (Musk)dumps part of their bitcoin stash, half the investors panic. If the same billionaire trades off shares of certain stocks, it's a great move for investors... Duh, I'll stick to good old American precious metals and currency, thank you very much!
Thank you for your responses and feedback - the coin collecting market has changes with the lack of inventory and rising prices. I even heard early comments are making a comeback!
OP I'm seeing this with world crown sized coins. They are jumping up in value, you can have a coin sell at auction and then next month that same coin will sell for much more. As for the lack of inventory, even dealers are competing with collectors at heritage, stacks, GC, etc for coins and then putting the same coins that just sold on auction for more on their own websites or on their ebay page....its nuts!
I saw a beautiful 1819 XF 45 bust half at a show for $100 over gray sheet price. High price for sure but it was sweet. I am considering purchasing it despite the cost way above grey sheet. I have been getting reports that bust half prices are on the upswing. Besides, my wife loved it.
$100 over grey sheet is fair retail, and your wife likes it . . . I think you should make the move . . . now!
