ANOTHER CLASSIC COUNTERFEITER FROM CHINA, email him and ask if he will send you coin without "copy" or replica on the coin, he will answer yes then forward email to ebay, this is a violation of US law under the federal trade commission hobby protection act and he should be banned from ebay!! lets get em!!!
I don't understand why they counterfeit common date Philadelphia mint Lincolns. Seems like alot of effort for nothing.
Amen, there are far more stimulating venues for numismatics than wasting the precious times of your life hanging out in that infernal online fleaMarket of perfidy.
Wait, I don't get it, this chinese company will send you a fake bullion coin and not label it as fake, is that correct? Isn't that somehow illegal, maybe? I don't understand what the OP was trying to say, can someone break it down for a noob?
yes it is illegal if you can find a seller such as happynewyear88 to email you and say he will not stamp the coin copy or replica , then forward to trust and safety of ebay they can have him removed, this is a violation of the hobby protection law .
So are the copies made from a precious metal or are they completely worthless? I kind of still don't get it because if they are still gold and silver, not plated, shouldn't they be worth something? Just because they are not from a well known mint shouldn't make it worthless.
Yeah, this vendor might be some law enforcement or something, trying to catch people buying illegal stuff. I just thought of that.
An off-the-cuff answer: Counterfeiters are in the business to make money (pun intended). Honesty is not a requirement. If you buy counterfeit bullion, there's no guarantee of the purity. Silver and gold can be mixed with other materials. A counterfeit gold bar may be made of gold and stamped .999 but in reality will not be. It would have to be tested. Here's a site with some info on counterfeits: http://rg.ancients.info/guide/counterfeits.html
These counterfeits are not silver they use a lead mixture that looks like silver to some people, these coins probably cost less then .05 to make so anything they can get for them is good money, happynewyear88 has been selling coins for .10 + 2.80 for shipping and he is happy!! he sends them without copy mark because he emailed me he would!! and I have a 1909-s VDB I bought from him and he sent without me asking for no copy and it came with no copy mark, a clear violation of US law. and if the US govenment is trying to sell counterfeit coins to catch people buying, well thats pretty sad they have time for that.
Oh, I get it now! Wow I feel like an idiot for my previous posts. Yeah, I'm still a noob and need to learn more. Isn't there someway of banning someone like that from ebay and craigslist? Just asking.
So would I, just to see if I could compare it to the real thing and would it be close by a visual inspection.
Hey hillbillyricky- your posts gave me a great idea for a TV show. You could drive around the country killing people who wronged you. We could call the show "Dexter".
