I had a pair of coins come in today. I really wouldn't believe that I owned these until they arrived. I resigned myself to just admiring them, but never actually being in the position to own them. Very limited mintage. Despite what the label says, I think less than 800 pairs were actually made. They've been "reissued" earlier this year, and I got a few of those, but the originals have remained elusive, until . . . . . Late last week there was a fleaBay auction. It was largely unnoticed by most because the seller was kind of describing these as though they were the reissue pieces, and not the originals. No matter, I saw what I saw, executed a fairly lowball snipe, and low and behold . . . . they arrived today! I bid half of what I've seen them consistently sell for, and won at 60% of my max bid . . . . Z @dwhiz , @Evan Saltis , this win is dedicated to you'ze guys, but no, I'm not parting with them . . . . .
I'm not familiar with these coins so I did a little poking around and found this... "I searched these Boards for JFSNC, and lo and behold the first thread I looked at (from May of this year) had an image of the #07 set (see image below). Is there a numbering sequence explanation of why there are two number seven sets (e.g. re-holder)? The #7 set does not have a bar code on the reverse, and I also see very clear differences with the text and/or insert placement." https://forums.collectors.com/discu...ickel-jfsnc-award-winning-design-two-coin-set
Incredible! As you obviously know I adore that design. I don’t have the original 2002, but I have this years remake without the stamp. 2002 is my birth year. In fact, today the 18th is my birthday. If it wasn’t for that I’m not sure I’d like those distracting stamps. congrats on your addition!
