We just received an email from the Ebay Premium Renewal Team! We have received your payment of $354.31 for the eBay Prime subscriptions plan. Your request has been processed and payment has been authorized by eBay. Anyone else get something like this? Note that eBay is spelled wrong in the team name.
Did you check your eBay messages? If you didn’t get it in an eBay message, it’s probably a scam. Does it give links or contact information in the email? I wouldn’t click on any links.
I sent it to spoof people at eBay. We never click on stuff we didn't request. Note that they spelled eBay wrong.
I get spoofs every time I order from Amazon. Someone(s) has my email which is not hard to acquire, but no one has my password (yet). I send these emails to the phishing department of Outlook.

The $354 figure is high enough to scare many eBay users into acting quickly, without really thinking the situation through. A more elaborate scam may ask the user to "confirm" his credit card number to refund the fee, or One last thought. Genuine eBay email messages typically include the user's actual name, e.g. "Dear John" rather than "Dear eBay User".
