Yesterday was the 168th day of the year and I received this in change. My first 2021 coin of the year. It has a deep cut under LIBERTY but there is no sign of zinc showing. Maybe it was there before it was copper coated. Lol
Besides, without them all purchases would be rounded UP to the nearest "whole" number. Think about it for a moment --- if an item that WAS advertised at $49.98 now becomes $50.00; would you still buy it thinking you got a "deal"? Or would you mentally say to yourself, "Self, I'm not paying FIFTY dollars for that!!"
Because to cease production would probably put some zinc producers and planchet suppliers out of business.
Absolutely right Camaro. The Dem-d-craps and Re-pubic-ans can't come together on anything, go figure... My opinion only.
Answer: Only if you didn't have any common sense(cents)...! The .95, .98, .99 thing on prices is ridiculous...an insult to intelligence...and many who fall for it are often losing money for the extra time/effort and gas to get there. Some will drive 10-20 miles to WM (+10-20 miles back = 20-40 miles RT) to buy something for "$1 cheaper"...5.99...when they could get it at the local IGA for $6.35 but in their mind it's "$1 more"...and spend $3 in gas getting to the "sale" price and back...!
