What do you guys think? Got a keeper here. Wonder what it could be worth? It’s in great MS condition.
Is it my eyes, or does it seem the blank planchet is too big to be a cent planchet? It seems too much space for the real cent to fit if centered. But then again in 1920 nothing else was copper other than the cent. Maybe I just need new glasses.
I don't know how accurate this is. https://varietyerrors.com/coin-price-guide/off-center-coin-strike-price-guide/
I agree with everything you said, including the grade-tier. That's a magnificent error, very well-preserved, and on an old find like that, it's quite scarce. All I can advise is, don't let it go for chump-change. Take its age into consideration and make them dig deep into their pockets for it. Personally, I'd keep it. No question about it. There's no way I'd let this go.
I agree with what Eddie says. I'd even consider submitting it for attribution since it is in such beautiful condition. I'd keep it, too!
AS FOR A VALUE, IN MY EXPERIENCE IN BIDDING (AND BUYING) ERROR COINS IN THE LAST YEAR, I WOULD SAY THAT COIN COULD FETCH UPWARDS OF 150.00..THIS IS AN ESTIMATE, NOT AN OFFER TO BUY!!!
That's what I have seen them sell in the raw. Just being honest. But you can put any value you want. Peace
Very nice off center error vs and it’s in great shape. Probably in the neighborhood of $50 so you may not want to pay the grading fees.
Very nice cent. Appears to have been cleaned or polished, in my opinion, could be wrong though. It's definitely a keeper, you are very fortunate to own it. Thanks for posting it.
Here's a piece from Heritage 9-10-19. https://www.sixbid.com/en/heritage-...=large&auctionSessions=&sidebarIsSticky=false I would get it graded by PCGS or NGC if for no other reason, it's in a protective holder.
