I bought this raw and sent it in to ICG on the Cointalk Member special - impressive 5 day turnaround and it will be here Monday, but I got the shipping email with the grade, soooooo, let's play Guess The Grade!
Hah, I doubt it - I won't have it in hand until Monday to see if there was actually any conservation and the effects, but the ICG folks have been brutally honest IMO on my three submissions - the 50 or so coins I've submitted. Insider did indicate that he'd been a reviewer on my 1916 SLQ, which was heartening and interesting to me. The Cointalk deal is pretty fantastic though - $10 a coin (plus $5 for any you want conserved), and they seem to be getting faster on turnaround, I do think that relates to both being a repeat customer and a Cointalk forum member, but I could be wrong about that. I'm learning a lot, but I'm still not great at spotting minor but unfortunately noteworthy details issues on raw coins, especially light / medium cleaning, that they identify for me on the slabs I was rather sad to see that the 1921 SLQ I'd submitted is coming back with a details grade - and they graded it IMO hard - it has a weak VF reverse but strong XF obverse - they gave it a VF25 Details. Still an upgrade from my ANACS G4, but I was hoping for better.
