Looking on usacoinbook.com, I come across this page https://www.usacoinbook.com/SmithsCoins/selling/coins/general/foreign-and-world-coins/ Lots of older 1600s german states(?) Coins. Looking for opinions on prices and conditions of the coins and if any are worth purchasing. Any and all feedback is welcome, thank you.
Some were ok and some looked cleaned and over priced. You would have to post pics of the ones you wanted to get my opinion on for grade and value.
Not seeing any Germany coins listed, so ?????? In my opinion, world/foreign coins sold here in the United States, usually haven't been handled like a US coin and many are cleaned poorly, so I wouldn't think there would be much value in them. Buying from overseas might yield better specimens.
I'd second that eBay recommendation. Retail sites seem so expensive to me. For sure there are fakes on eBay, but I just did a search of German States (North American auctions) and saw no obvious fakes in the first couple of pages. Especially if you are just starting out, you might just buy some cheaper stuff that appeals to you and expand from there. I'd avoid big flashy high-grade thalers until you get some experience - a lot of those have been faked.
