1942 D Mercury Nickel

    I found a 42 Nickel and I think it may have a 1 underneath the 2, but I'm not too sure. Can anyone help me know for certain? I will try to get pictures up as soon as I scan it and figure out how to do it. Thanks a bundle.

    I would love to see a Mercury nickel, too.

    It's probably one of those small mercury nickels they call dimes. I'd also like to see a photo.

    Well you never know, he might have a nickel like those Hobo nickels designed with the Lady Liberty.

    I thought maybe he might have something like my mercury wheat cent, it is a 1916 mercury dime attached to a wheat cent back, pretty worn, sometimes guys in machine shops have way too much time on their hands.
