1939P DDO-001 (pictured at the bottom) Sorry for the absence in visits to CT, since my daughter (whose picture is included below in a Santa hat) was born in November I have been a little maxed out and just have not been able to social network in anyway like I had before. I started a website with pictures of my coins (and soon some pictures of some that have been sent to me to be photographed) HERE: www.lincoln-cents.cuvelier.org. Anyone who has already obtained a copy of Wexler and Flynn’s The Authoritative Reference on Lincoln Cent, Second Edition will find a small essay of mine on page 71 meant for new Variety collectors. Happy Holidays... Below is a 1939P DDO-001 MDS that exhibits doubling of the ear, the date, parts of the lapel, the eyelid and ERTY. Wexler (ARLC 2) lists this DDO now as a hybrid of a Class I (rotated) and a VIII (tilted).
Jason, Congratulations on the birth as well as the coin. I have been looking for a nice higher grade like yours and they are hard to find. I did receive my copy of the book! and actually read some last night, but didn't get to your area yet. I will be sure to do so! Jim
CONGRATS Jason on both of you gems mentioned, especially though, your daughter. Kids are the one thing you can never sell or upgrade!
Thanks everyone! Great point...the kids are of course more valuable than any known variety or error! And they certainly bring smiles to faces including mine! Happy holidays!
I've seen beautiful children like that. Congrats. I've never seen a beautiful 1939 like that. Congrats again.
