I really like the Bay Bridge commem, particularly with how the light reflects off the water striations on the reverse. Bit sad about how the CA commems (1925 CA, 1935 San Diego, 1936 Bay Bridge) proudly display the grizzly bear when they had been already been hunted to extinction before 1924. Here's my example.
Yes, that cut out Hawaiian half dollar is really sad. That was stupid and unnecessary. The others might have been issued that way to boost sales.
This thread has fallen way off the front page. I love class commemoratives, so I'll bump it back by posting my 1937-S Arkansas. PCGS graded it MS 66.
Dat San Diego 'holdered' ? Such lovelyness. '66 in my estimation. And the Pan-Pac half I need in a holdered state. Bought one years ago 'raw' and possibly 'toyed' with....... uninitiated I was to collecting.
Bringing back this thread with the second commem that I ever bought ... back in the early 90's from Teletrade. Anyone remember them? Current owners of Great Collections were part of Teletrade. Anyway, it's a nice "roach" coin that I haven't been able to part with. Keep'em coming. Cal
