  9. So it’s got to be beveled doubling to be worth money..?
What about this I found this one last night on Washington’s head looks like he’s a alien and look at the S it’s got like a crack or the beginning of a die crack A97DBE84-1B4E-4042-89C4-BBC2B7F33E1B.jpeg 6D3DC72D-3927-45D7-AC11-2C7770E977BB.jpeg

    Honestly, you should know that...
No on the crack, sorry. But that alien head, I see what you mean. Do you got any more like it, or is that the only one?

This is DDO week. Everybody thinks they have double die coins. Machine doubling is as common as the coin itself. A true DDO is much sharper, angular, and curved, not flat.

No I don’t have anymore like it, yet! I can only inspect my coins at night when I’m not busy doing stuff around here to make a living. But I need to because I might find one worth some $$$, I’m pretty sure I’ll find some more. Why are you interested? I’ve put one up on eBay starting bid @ 99¢ + 56¢ shipping fee. I already got one bid hopefully I can get it to go like 10$ or more, the second L on Dollar has the water or glacier overlapping it and it has a die in the D of United and the D on dollar looks like it has die trail And it has marks where other quarters fell on it and left ridges on the face

Yes, it's doubling, but the real question is, "is it a doubled die?"

use the links Oldhoopster provided, it might help you figure that out.

As explained in the previous links, a doubled occurs during the die making process. The mint went to a single squeeze method about 15 years ago, but that process still can yield class IX doubling, although it is usually minor

FYI - Most true doubled dies aren't worth big money. If you were able to get more than beer money for anything you find, you'd be ahead of a lot of other searchers.

Making money finding errors in circulation is very, very, very difficult. The "get rich from pocket change" folks make all of those wonderful videos should be forced to...(well, I would get banned if I said what I thought ;)). They just want you to click on their site. Who cares if they don't tell you the whole story.

While it's still very difficult, the best way of searching is to make a list of known doubled dies that sell for a premium (you can start with checking The Cherry Pickers Guide). Then only look for those. The Chances of finding something new is slim, and it's even harder if you don't know the minting process. Even if you do find a new one, there is a decent chance the premium will be low.

If you like the thrill have the hunt and the recognition of finding new DDs, then check everything. If you're looking to get rich, buy a lottery ticket

All just damage from circulation. Most, if not all, from getting hit by other coins.

if they actually got rich from finding errors and varieties, they wouldn't be panhandling on Youtube for money. LOL that's the scam of it, make folks believe there stuff to find lurking everywhere, then get ad revenue, try to get them to buy rolls or raffles, and ask for patron or paypal or venmo money from the viewers. I just know they are buying the coins at the coin shops they find and sell/raffle but their viewers fall for it and send them $10 or $20 for $4 or $8 in silver. Anyone that's roll hunted knows you don't find like crazy every time you look, just like the slot videos on youtube always show wins, but when you go, you always lose.

There are so many anomalies on post 1982 coins, it's often difficult to find a true error, in my opinion. I keep searching and so should you, good luck.

  18. o_Oo_O Man I try the mega power ball and fantasy 5 every day, but I keep getting the numbers and these jokers end up flipping it backwards upside down crossed over and rectangular ways, I keep hitting 2 numbers or sometimes I get 3 but it’s not worth much!! I’m about to go broke playing the lottery. Which sucks because I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to win, something keeps telling me. Anyways thanks for your reply it was somewhat discouraging but hey I get that a lot. A quarter for a dollar or 10 is good enough if I can keep finding them

I'm just trying to help you because you asked us. You know with the Senate hearings scheduled later this month on the UFOs I was thinking these alien head ones might be a real hot item then, worth some $$$, as you say. Especially if an alien testifies at the hearing, and they look like this, can you imagine what these would be worth? That's why I say see if you got more. And thanks for this time you spent on all these great pictures, and for sharing them with us, we appreciate it!

Like the other 2 Billion of us. My lottery motto: "3 to 4....no more." Derives from the fact that since I bought my first Super Lottery ticket in 1988 when I was 18 years old, I've never matched more then 3 to 4 out of six numbers.

Sorry I couldn’t get back to you until now. MD or machine doubling is NAV or no added value doubling as explained by others.
