Metal detector finds

Well the yen is 109 to the dollar now. It's the largest coin they make,
for vending machines and stuff. It's almost a $5 coin.
Yes there's good resale value on the tungsten even though the metal has
very little value. They are usually well made and people like them.

Man, y'all make me miss being able to hunt. I live out here in oilfield country Tx. There isn't a piece of land that isn't private out here.

 

You can ask permission, and as long as you fill all your holes, most people will say OK, as they are interested in what you will find. However, if you find an old family heirloom, etc. You need to set up some ground rules before you find something and get into a disagreement. Some people don't care and you can keep everything. Others will say they lost a ring 30 years ago. You can agree to split any "significant" finds. (Let's say anything worth $20 or more, since that is unlikely anyway.)

 

I wish it worked like that out here. No one is allowed on oilfield property unless there is equipment that you are authorized to service or work on. And then if you get off the lease road, you can be fined, arrested and/or thrown off the property.

 

Asking to metal detect on oilfield property is probably the same as a civilian asking the US Government for approval to metal detect on one of their active military bases.

What Michael K is saying is if it was like a private property like on farm land and you wanted to metal detect in his pastures, plowed fields, etc. and wanted to get approval first. Basically like getting approval to hunt on his property, but instead of living game with firearms or archery, you're hunting for lost treasures with a metal detector and he gets a cut of any of the loot if found. Just like hunting. I have relatives who absolutely love hunting. Sometimes the farmer will ask that they get some of whatever it is they shoot for food. A lot of times, if the hunting is really good, my relatives will give him something even if it wasn't in the verbal contract, such as "x" amount of meat, etc. etc. or home made sausage out of all that they got.

 

Yea I hear ya. I was able to do that in east tx. but about the only thing they farm here is oil. Lol There are some cotton fields but most of those are forbidden also. Lol

 

They had a lot of cattle farms too. I remember the horrible draught about 8 or 9 years ago in Texas. Cattle were dying from lack of water & food. Farmers were forced to ship their cattle off early to the slaughter houses or the cattle would die on the farm instead. Bad situation.

 

Almost a bust but I pulled a tiny silver ring.

I used 3/4 of a gallon of gas driving to various hunt sites.

 

Your already finding 2021 coins in the ground geez.The second row number 4 is a nice toner.

 

I noticed that as well as the Tuskegee Airmen.
The pennies, nickels and dimes have been coming up 2021 for a while.
I had 4 shots at a W but all D's. 2 Marsh Billings and 2 Tallgrass Prairie.

That is large. My ring finger is a 10. I have another one that is a 14.

Stainless steel top left. It's larger than it looks here, because the bottom middle one I wear, and it's a 10. GF has a ring mandrel.

 

I get to update my stainless steel rings. On the bottom row the sizes are
14, 11.5, and 10.

 

The ring at the top is the stainless steel from last week.

 

I hit 4 spills. 7 quarter, 12 nickel which is unusual. And 2 others for .99 and .80. I made more than my gas but the cost of gas is so high it affected my net.
