1877 indian cent , wrong grade ?

    Thanks , I would think (that's what gets me in trouble ) it would have something to do with the installation or allignment of the dies ,

    There's a reason that coin hasn't sold, and it's because the coin sends mixed messages, IMO. Questionable surfaces (which may be oversharpening of the photos), strong central detail but weak edge detail, and a seemingly net grade. All of those factors would lead me, at least, to take pause before purchasing this coins.

    Now for a challenge - find one in g-4/6 that has a strong rim on the top obverse. I could not, can you?

    Interesting discussion guys. I took a look at my '77 which is in about the same grade as the OP, and it also shows some weakness on the top obverse rim. So, it seems like that is the way they made'em.
