So, I got this 2021P Lincoln in change yesterday and it caught my eye for some unknown reason, It's just a cent, one of billions of them made this year, but I noticed the lapel is more detailed than I'm used to seeing, whicl the collar area and tie has lost a lot while his beard has lost considerable details. this is NOT the beard of 2006 LOL seems like they went with less neckbeard, no sideburns and a hefty underbeard. Anyways, thought I'd share, it's a slow day and nothing better to do. Variety Vista stops at ODV-043 and the date 2015, but shield reverse starts in 2010, so why the stoppage on cataloging ODVs with 2015 and RDVs with..... 2008?? Is variety vista a dead resource since 2015 maybe? this cent is a far cry from ODV-41 or ODV-42, kind of like too many copies of ODV-43 in my opinion. I'm not a photographer, I know it sucks, deal with it LOL happy friday yall!
And what I mean is, the 2021 above is a FAR way off from my 2005 below I'm not entirely sure die wear explains it all, but design wear might. for sure I'm going to spend some time this weekend with 2021s and see if this is the norm for 2021P strikes or an aberration of just this coin.
And yeah, I know my picture of the 2005D sucks too, and it's STILL a beautiful circulation strike example! Hahahahaha
Check out the clean shaven Lincoln in 68 compared to 69 on these MS coins. 69 they redid the master dies. Nothing new. Abe has been clean shaven before!
