It is a 1916-D Mercury Dime graded by PCGS. Please note, the rim you see at the bottom of the reverse is not jagged, it's just how the slab was photographed.. This round will end at 5:00pm PST on Tuesday December 15, 2009 or earlier once all 5 participants post their answer.
The reverse is, in my opinion no better than an AG-3, the obverse a G-4. Being a 16-d I'm assuming that they went with the G-4. My only fear is that they may have bumped it up due to its being a key date, but G-4 it is. Richard
Looks like we more or less have a consensus....wouldn't that suck if we were all wrong??...Wait a minute ..if that happens I win...forget I said that...
Sorry, we are in the fourth round of this contest and thus I can't except any new entries. The last round new participants could join was round 2. That would be the case.
Guys, please read the rules...it clearly states that only the 5 contestants listed are eligible to compete in this contest. I stopped accepting new contestants 2 rounds ago. Besides that, if you go back to the first rounds where the full rule list was posted you will see that only members of CT who joined on or before 11/20/09 may play and that editing a post is cause for disqualification. So, please read the rules.
Congratulations. Everyone got this round correct. The coin is a G4. Watch for the next round to start!
