As much as I hate to say it, I am very disappointed with the design of this years edition.

I am happy it is not a repeat of an earlier years design, but my god is it bland. And it's not bland in the sense that it's tasteful...just bland.

We know Lady Liberty on the Peace Dollar was modeled on the wife of the designer, and I'd like to congratulate Mr. Anne Widdecombe on his new job at the Royal Mint.

I like it. It is something different. I am in loved with the helm design. The chick is a little skinny, but...

Wow! Britannia is hot. Lol. A bit sallow in the cheeks, but that's probably the lighting.

You attracted to 50 year old? cuz that is what she looks like..lol

There are much more appealing ladies on coins out there, this would be a 5 at best (the chick that is..I like the design though)

Ya, the 2003 Britannia is better. But I just don't understand how someone can like the ugly women on early US coins. I mean, there's a reason its called Matron head!

I agree the 2003 is much better but I would have to go with the 2007 for my all time fav :)

But if we move off the Britannia then I would pick this duel image of Britannia & Marianne from 2004

I always heard 2007s design was the least popular one yet, given its busyness.

2003 along with 2001 are are all time fave Britannia designs.

Definitely not feeling the 2010 version much. 2007 is my favorite.

Never saw Britannia wearing a Greek Corinthian helmet before. And "The Thing" is a hideous as ever. I think a young Princess Diana (English) would be a much better obverse and not the Saxe/Col-berg/Greek creature. I like the traditional Britannia with a lion and union jack shield better. A Colonial...Traci

Well it is the very variety that gives us a choice. Frankly I like the 2007 design the best, busy as it is alleged to be, but primarily because of the menacing look to the British lion and not so much for the portrayal of Britannia.

In contrast the USA reverts to using tired old designs - very nearly 100 years old and over a 100 years old in the case of the AGE. The designs don't change but stay static.

I agree Saor, American coinage is crud. You have to get commemoratives to get an interesting design. I hope the Day of the Big Heads will soon end ! Traci

I'd like to see a Britannia coin with her in a menacing pose...ready to fight.

Similar to this statue...sword in hand and Lion by her side.

Also I don't think Diana would work on a coin (again), people might also find it weird as she wasn't a true Royal...but rather married one.

Yes, I agree. I like this years coin but I would have to choose the 2007 as well. Also, no offense to the queen at all but couldn't they have her sitting on a chair kind of like our trade dollar or even like our seated liberty? Yes, I love the Britannia but let's dress up the queen somehow, gotta change with the times. :thumb:
