Received my first ever batch of coins back from grading. About five weeks ago I sent a few coins to each of the four grading companies shown on this website. My order to ICG was the first one I got back. I'm very pleased with their service although I expected more impressive photos than what I received. Here's the 1936 WLH I got back today, their pictures then mine.

    Regardless, gorgeous coin.
Their pics look surgical, yours look human.

Using the ANA book (4th Ed) I can see the rationale in a not higher grade. Certainly looks to me to have the eye appeal and luster for a 64, but the contact marks on the obverse: couple directly in the center, something between the "B" and "E"; and what I could call hairlines in the right field give it a couple of demerits. I'd give it a 63, still leaving some room for the slightly nicer examples without going too high up the scale.

Ah, the benefit of having the coin in hand.

    Thanks for the comments!

My experience with ICG is they are consistently a point low, or more.
