Received my first ever batch of coins back from grading. About five weeks ago I sent a few coins to each of the four grading companies shown on this website. My order to ICG was the first one I got back. I'm very pleased with their service although I expected more impressive photos than what I received. Here's the 1936 WLH I got back today, their pictures then mine.
Using the ANA book (4th Ed) I can see the rationale in a not higher grade. Certainly looks to me to have the eye appeal and luster for a 64, but the contact marks on the obverse: couple directly in the center, something between the "B" and "E"; and what I could call hairlines in the right field give it a couple of demerits. I'd give it a 63, still leaving some room for the slightly nicer examples without going too high up the scale. Ah, the benefit of having the coin in hand. Thanks for the comments!
