    First pic of the reverse look like a gouge, but with the last pic, I see what you're talkin' about - don't remember seeing PMD like that before...

    Looks like the R has a kickstand. Looked online and couldn’t find anything else like it

    Because its damage and not all coins are alike.An optical illusion,the 2nd picture clearly shows the spot is incused therefore its damage.

    I placed the coin in a different angle under the microscope and noticed slight scratches at a different angle definitely shows it to be incused at higher magnification Definitely a illusion learn something new every day thanks

    Looking at the rim in that area on the last picture, I think it took a hit which moved a small portion of the rim away from the edge! JMO
