Here is a new one.. Don't say double die.. That is incorrect. The Proper numismatic terminology is actually Doubled Die.

    Some information - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doubled_die

Well now, somebody I think is getting good at this... :)

Pam, look at this. This mint mark was on the die with this date. In 1990/91, the Mint stopped hand-punching in the marks. The bad news was, no more RPMs. Good news I guess was, the mark could serve as a diagnostic. That is to say, given its proximity to the date, if they both appear die-doubled, that just about cinches it. They could of course just as well both be strike-doubled. On this coin, however, I think you may be right on it, die-doubling is looking pretty good.

Fantastic pictures to dx from, too, BTW. It makes it a whole lot easier for us, when they're that good. Let's see what the others have to say...

expat Remember you are unique, just like everyone else

Variety Vista have no DDO listed for the entire 1990's so I would assume MD. chances are at least one would have shown up in the last 27 years.

I think I see what you saw on the coin, with my naked eye, so if it is that obvious, it would have twins in existence, and be listed, wouldn't it?
The lighting on the additional photos have me seeing MD or just the lighting itself is off, but the date and MM do bring into question what you have there. I just don't have the experience to give you an experienced opinion. Sorry, but good luck. I know you are learning and please keep doing so. I enjoy your posts.

I see what you're seeing, lol. Good thing some real pros showed up to edify.
So this is the dime? Glad you put it here, on your own thread. No one would have seen it on mine, except the coolest bunch of people to hang out on CT, lol (that's all you folks that show up every day on my thread ;))

    True, there's no more RPM(s) .
Good news, there's still doubled mint marks found on variety coins minted today .
