Idea is to name a major coin type produced by a branch mint for only one year prior to 1999. Must be a type intended for circulation in the U.S. … patterns, commems, bullion, proofs, errors, colonial, confederation, confederate, territorial and world coins don’t count. 1879-O Double Eagle was the only With Motto Double Eagle struck at the New Orleans mint. Only 2325 were struck, creating an instant rarity, although not nearly as much so as the 1856-O. Here’s the PCGS MS62 which I think is finest known:
