Just a reminder. Noon EDT. Do I detect a notable lack of enthusiasm for these? I’m going after the O privy mark. That’ll do me.
I'm staying optimistic that I can grab 1x CC and 1x O; though, if previous US Mint releases are any indication of what's to come, I anticipate I'll be rather salty and grumpy tomorrow afternoon
I can do a lot more with my collection by not paying that ridiculous high price and buying other coins.
I will try , we will see , I would rather have the Philly , SF and Denver mint marks though. Oh and a Peace Dollar
The last 2 things I bought from the mint (2019S Enhanced Reverse Proof ASE, and the 2020 W "V75" ASE) were both bought at work. I work at one of the biggest government agencies with supposedly some of the best computers in the world. I had a hard time getting on the website haha.
For me I smell a "Pride of two nations" set type situation, it will sell, and then the dealers will be trying to offload their stockpiles with not enough buyers in short order and try to just break even on them. Hope I'm wrong. I don't see it as a good quick flip really, more of a hot potato. Is anyone getting the headhunter email offers yet to buy them and sell them to an online marketer? You'd think if it were really that hot they'd have sent those emails before this weekend.
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they were back to issue price in a year. I also expect there will be some significant returns/cancellations when people find out it doesn't ship until October
Since I've always loved the design, I'll be trying for the Peace on the 7th. Since the market doesn't seem to be generating a lot of interest for the Morgans, plus I never really was a fan of the design (to be fair, a choice UNC DMPL toner is a gorgeous coin I'd love to have in my collection), PLUS I don't really care for the finish of the modern commemoratives...I'm going to pass on trying to snag any of the Morgans.
