Bulk Wheats... price opinions?

I was just curious as to what others see as a fair price for bulk wheat cents. Not on eBag, but in an actual person-to-person, non-dealer transaction. Just a generic price range. I usually pay between $1-$3 per roll (depending on the seller). It seems like (at least recently) that a lot of people are trying to unload junk and are expecting top-dollar for it. Maybe it's the economy, but things here have really changed over the last year or so in WNY.

Most of the time I get them for $3 a roll, everynow & then someone has them for $2.50...

I've been buying them for 1-4 cents each in bulk. The first couple of bags of 3000 each had a lot of nice cents in them and a good variety of dates (no keys or semi-keys). The last two buys were pretty disappointing (a awful lot of culls) and I paid 4 cents each for them. But averaging it out, I think I still did okay. Right now I'm sitting on about 11,000 wheats.

I've kept the better ones for sets and used some duplicates for trades but now I have to find a way to unload the rest.

ikandigigt like any merchant with surplus inventory the only way to move it to discount, discount, discount, and then-maybe.

Also I forgot to add that if you can get 2c each-take that $220 and get a nice key coin that should certainly appreciate more than 11,000 common wheaties. IMHO.

I know I have to do it. I'm going to a coin show tomorrow where I might be able to find a buyer. I'd like to sell them locally because shipping from Canada would be more than the cents are worth. It would cost $30 or more to ship 10 pounds of coins to the States.
