the curve of the nine points to the center of the seven. It also has the pronounce hook. The date has doubling that may make it look squared. Could it be a proof?
Am I the only one that has been collecting Lincolns for over twenty years and still has some difficulty with the 1970-S large and small dates? I have a cheat sheet with photos on file with the obvious visual differences, and I still struggle on some of them I find in my pocket change!!!
looks like a small date over a large date..but I have trouble with these myself...ha! pretty coin though. have fun....
FAR from the only one. I've been collecting for well over 60 years now and at times with items like that 70S stuff, I sometimes feel like throwing the dumb thing out a window.
According to coppercoins book on a small date quote 19 of the date is usually slightly weak 9 of the date is wider and more sharply curved Liberty is usually weak top of the numerals of the date are all level NO horizontal crease across the 7 in the date According to coppercoins book on the large date: quote 19 of he date is generally strong 9 of the date is narrower and more gently curved Liberty is usualy about normal top of 7 is lower than the 9 and 0 Always a horizontal crease across the 7 numeral Un Quote By the crease notation, on the large date where the top of the 7 meets the verticle portion of the 7 in the date, there is a crease. NO crease on that spot of the small date.
