Is it me or are the 2021 d pennies full of deep scratches ive opened 2 rolls uncirculated from the bank n they all have deep nicks or scratches also does anyone know of any errors to look 4
Pam, it is threads like this that are so annoying. The OP asks a question, to which, photos are requested 3 minutes later, but the OP has already departed. If the OP wasn't fully prepared to engage in discussion, she should have waited until she was prepared.
Those nicks and scratches are contact marks. Nothing out of the ordinary. Happens when the pennies are taken and put into a huge container with thousands of pennies in them. They all move around and hit each other.
If these are from the same machine run they could be from dies that have been polished poorly. No pictures, no answers, just conjecture.
Almost all Zincoln's have anomalies Tracey. Very few have valued errors above face, but there are some. Keep looking and keep posting, good luck.
Well, Tracey, seems like you aren't really very aware of how this forum works, so unfortunately you won't get any good information, but only educated guesses. The fact you haven't even responded to the answers you've gotten, leads me to believe you aren't serious about collecting. JMHO
Yeah, contact marks. And maybe rolling machine marks. Only worth one cent unless you can find one with no problems at all - no contact marks, no fingerprints, no rolling machine marks, and little if any die polishing marks. Strike also should looks really good. Finding one like that would be a really good roll find, and very unlikely. But yeah, one like that would grade around MS69 and be worth a good amount.
