In the event of a Tie , a second round of questions will be presented to those members. If at that time the "tie" is not broken, each member will receive a Prize. Here we go ! 1) I was born in 1687. I was a schoolmaster, surgeon and a metallurgical pioneer. I discovered and patented a process for making steel. One of my Mines, also served as a prison. 2) My Alma Mata motto was "In Deo Speranus" . Some believe this was the basis for my decision making regarding United States Coinage. 3) PCGS has recognized me in their Top Ten " Ultra" rare coin list. They have listed five of my specimens. 4) I was sent, to my place of business a mailing of twenty five catalogues, which was unsolicited. I promptly returned them with a request to the sender to reimburse me the fifty cents it cost me for the return postage. The sender neither did so and went on to publicly ridicule me. I am recognized as one of America's first Rare Coin Dealers. 5) At the age of 13 years, I was employed as a school teacher. I later went on to become a historic figure in the field of Numismatics, as well as having a College named after me. 6) I am the only Founding Member of The American Numismatic Society who actively participated until my death in 1905 . 7) I was convicted and served a prison term for molestation. 8) I was a watchmaker located at 83 Bleeker st, New York. I also published several highly important price catalogues in the 1860's . 9) My likeness is engraved on the obverse of ( the name in question #8 ) store token. 10) I lived at 39 Broadway, New York before relocating to Washington.
