Went through the second box of nickels. Several more S mints, various years. 41 is a small date. Another Buffalo, 1934. And a 1992-D Rotated Die. Pretty stoked! First time with one of these.

Disappointed! Sealed Box of half dollars from the bank is all CWR most marked! How does that happen?

Yup. Been looking at small and large 82's for the last week. Mind was thinking that.

I had no problem buying a box of quarters last week from my usual bank. Fast forward today...My Publix store in the Panhandle would not sell me two rolls at the customer care desk citing a “coin shortage”. Their attitude was not a pleasant one. At checkout, I told the cashier of my unpleasant experience and she quickly informed me that management has not notified personnel of this. I placed a called to Publix corporate when I got home. The Customer Care employee I spoke to was not aware of a shortage as well. My call is going to be escalated and I will be contacted later with a definite answer in regards to the company policy on providing coin rolls to customers. Stay tuned....

A grocery store isn't in the coin-supply business. They have to pay a service to bring them rolled coins. If they sell rolls to customers, they may well run short on coins to make change.

I can only guess what the new policy will be.

Last week I checked in with my favorite teller and asked her to try to order Ikes. She said she would, and would call me if she was successful... I didn't receive a call :arghh:

Fast forward to today. I stopped at her branch and dropped off chocolate chip cookies. I like paying it forward.

I had a few hours to burn so I stopped at a few banks...Nearly devoid of halves and Ikes, as in $10 loose halves with nothing of note, and only small dollar coins, until this...

A branch of my bank where I literally have never found anything collectible had these 3, $500 bags of Ikes!

I don't have time to look through them now, but I eventually will and will report back.

    happy hunting!

I've never seen Ikes like that, only quarters, dimes, nickels, pennies, and the new crappy dollar pieces. Pretty cool. Hopefully, whomever deposited those, wasn't on the sorting and returning end, before you.

Hmmmm, it appears whomever counted these Ikes at the coin courier office struggles with math...

Have you at least edge checked the bags? I don't know how you have the ability to not rip into it!

Ikes are one of my favorite coins! I like the size and heft to them. Sadly, they were such a short series, that there isn't too much of interest or value to be found. I get them every chance I get though. I would probably wet my pants if my teller came out with 3 bags like that! LOL.

    Even though the Redbook lists a 1976 type 1 MS65 at $1100
I would only believe it when I saw it. I have 4 or 5 Type 1 in good condition~

I love the Eagle Back Ikes, even though almost all the Varieties are found in the Bicentennial bell backs. Keep your eye out for the silvers though!
