Looks like a bit of a lamination peel. I wouldn't think it's worth much more, if any, above face value. Still a cool find.
It’s a detached lamination. Considered an error but they are common and not worth much. Nice to find and have.
Found this one in my wheat jar. Always collect them never looked for errors. l guess this is my first error. Thanks for the info
I found a lamination the same way - started looking for errors and found a nice lamination on a 44' wheat cent.
eBay sold listings show its worth at least a few bucks. Not going to pay for college or anything but still a cool find
Depends if you can find a buyer. If I found it in circulation, I'd definitely keep it. I wouldn't spend more than face for it. Then again, I've found bigger lams in circulation:
Wow those are cool, circulation finds I assume? Like everything though, something is only worth what people are willing to pay for it. I think that applies a lot to error coins. They can't be calculated based off of melt value or mintages, just what somebody would pay for it...
Yup, circulation finds. FWIW, I've had offers on these 2 coins from $10-$100. Just goes to show what you said, only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
