Was this one of the societies that mandated the token be buried with the member at death? I seem to remember that a couple of them did that. Jim
I have no idea, I just like the amount of different tokens they have. Each lodge seems to be able to do their own thing to certain degrees.
one reason for the wide variety is every steel stamp maker seems to have a couple different ones. So they can stamp their own version. The other thing is Every Mason item supply catalog I have seen will have a assortment of Member tokens and some also carry the steel stamps for the DIY lodges. Part of the deal with burying with the member is the member doesn't tell family members about it, or where the token is located. And the family soon forgets about it. I have been told that it may be up to the local lodge ceremonials as to burying with member
