I bought this one because it was cute and I thought it would be a chinch to identify.

Nope. I am stumped; after ransacking acsearch, etc., I am not coming up with a Hermes / chelys (or lyre) combination.

    Greek - Hermes Chelys AE15 May 2021 (0).jpg

    It is tiny (1.89 grams / 11 x 10 mm):

    Greek - Hermes Chelys AE15 May 2021 (0a).jpg
    Unknown Greek Æ 11
    (c. ?)

Head of Hermes right, wearing petasos, winged kerykeion (caduceus) over shoulder / Greek inscription? around chelys (lyre made with tortoise shell)
    (1.89 grams / 11 x 10 mm)

The closest I came up with is too big and not quite right otherwise - a countermarked issue from Bithynia:

    Greek - Hermes Chelys AE15 May 2021 Bithynia auct.jpg

    Any help enormously appreciated! :)

Thanks for that tip. Except for it being silver, it is very close. I checked Wildwinds and acsearch and there are some Hermes/lyre AE types for Sestos, but not a match (they lack the caduceus, inscription is different, bust facing wrong way, etc.)

That's the closest I've come, and I appreciate the help!

Yeah, I'm becoming an expert at "unattributed." If you need anything officially certified as "unattributed," just ask me. :(:arghh:

I didn't find an exact match either but I think the coin is from Sestos, possibly unpublished.
The coin I found (sold very recently) is also "possibly" Sestos and unpublished anywhere else.
The bronze versions I found lack the caduceus and have Hermes facing left on Wildwinds

I ran into some of these interesting Sicily types when I was trolling around acsearch, etc. Kind of a similar theme, but no matches.

Nice coin, by the way. I like that jaunty short-brimmed petasos he's wearing.

I think that is an Office Petasos, instead of the standard Farmer’s Petasos...
