It good that you are going for the No Motto type. Most collectors ignore those. Believe it or not, the $10 Liberty series, especially the No Motto type dates, are very scarce in high high. Back in 1976, the Eliasberg collection of U.S. coins was on display at the Philadelphia Mint. I was surprised to see that very few of his older $10 Liberty were Mint State. In fact many of them were VF and EF. Later I learned that those coins were seldom collected in the 19th century because of their high face value. For many people that was more than a week's wages. Therefore most of the survivors are "used."
I appreciate your coins. I love especially this Indian Head 1908 D. Really nice. The 1852 Liberty is a Little Bit overgraded in my eyes, but wonderful, too.
Sadly grade-flation is alive and well. I bought this 1853 eagle, which is in an AU-58 NGC holder a bit over 20 years ago. It's still my type coin. You see coins no better than this in MS-62 holders now.
The type flipped over in 1866. The No Motto $20 gold Liberty coins are tough to find in true Mint State. The $5 gold pieces also made the change in 1866. The quarter eagle design was considered to be too small to accommodate the addition of “In God we trust” to the reverse design. I bought this piece at a small auction about 30 years ago. It sold for a bargain price because no one else in the audience knew what it was.
