I edited my response, didn't read enough before posting. Heritage refers to it as "high relief" - "Modified high relief business strikes and proofs (Judd-2020) are Subtype 2-A." - so that's probably wrong huh?

Yeah, I’m not sure that sounds like a misleading description on heritage’s end. My best guess is that the “modified high relief” = medium relief pattern. ESP considering:

“The reverse of the medium relief 1922 Peace dollar is from the same hub as the rejected 1922 high relief sandblasted proof Peace dollars”

So, the two patterns are very closely tied together, but still considered distinct from one another (J-2019 vs J-2020).

EDIT: I’m also realizing that this is different from the one linked in Heritage bc that’s still a proof - this one is actually considered a business strike? Hence AU50 vs PR50 grade. I would’ve thought in a case like this SP50 - or something to that end - would’ve been the correct designation. Someone can hopefully clarify.

It's a place where people talk. Sometimes it's people who know what they're talking about. ;)

The bottom Obverse is different than the top two. The bust tip does not plunge into the top of the 9. OD not level.

Reverse is different too. Called Early HUB Die and not Modified High Relief. I'm not sure why it is pulled up as a COMP.
