I found a 2020 Salt River Bay S Proof and a Marsh Billings and Rockefeller S Proof. Are these worth anything?
Meow is correct. The San Francisco mint has been producing business strike quarters, not intended for circulation, for several years. They can be purchased from the U.S. Mint by the rolls and bags. For example here is the link for the Tallgrass Prairie Quarters and also the Marsh-Billings Quarters (like one of the one you found) with pricing for the coins from all three mints. https://catalog.usmint.gov/tallgras...l?cgid=america-the-beautiful-quarters#start=1 https://catalog.usmint.gov/marsh-bi...7154.1620469787-1168773296.1617923152&start=1
First, welcome to the neighborhood @SVO_Seth ! Ditto! Even if they were proof coins (which they're not!) they would be considered "impaired proofs" and not worth much more than face value.
Not all S mm coins are proofs as these are definitely not there just Frisco business strikes-price wise average in the $5-$10 range each nice finds.
Thanks all for the replies. I was leaning toward not being proofs since they didn’t have the “proof” look that my dollar coins proofs have. But I am guessing that they are definitely worth hanging on to. Do they need to be graded or is it more costly than they are worth?
It's hard to tell from those pictures but they look like they been around a little. Depending on their shape, anywhere from $2-5, I'd say. Nice finds.
