A 66RD would be worth it and a 67RD would be great, but I was thinking it looked more like a 65RD. Yeah, I'd go with pcgs.

I think that's another DDR, note the doubled L in DOLAR.

So, everyone who thinks it's not a DDR is an idiot?

It's funny how long some of these guys been on this site doing varieties and still don't know what's going on

This is from his coin, Rick. Are you saying this is die doubling?

From my years of experience I'm not interested in the outter devices, other than the beads on this coin

Look at the beads images suck the beads are totally double very easy to see no shelf life on those

I’m sorry, beads? Do you mean those dot separators between the words?

I agree with you, not a DDR. The dots do not appear elongated.

Even if they are look at that T I keep referencing ad nauseam in this thread. It doesn't take CONECA to tell us that's strike doubling. Either Rick is Variety Vista balmy or he's kidding with us, which is it?

Clearer, sharper photos of all the lettering by the OP would help to determine exactly what he has. The only thing that I saw that matched with DDR-002 is the die break between the P and L in PLURIBUS. This is from VarietyVista:

This is the OP's coin: upload_2021-5-9_0-19-20.png
None of the lettering in STATES nor FIVE CENTS matches DDR-002. When I first looked at this post I thought to myself: "Is it possible to have all three forms of doubling (DDR, MD, DDD) on the same coin"?
Maybe someone more experienced than I am knows the answer.
Edit. Wexler is the one who stated DDD shows the doubling on both sides of a letter just like some of the letters in STATES on OP's coin.

I wondered the same thing. I also noticed the doubling on the bottom of the E along with the die break you mentioned between the P and L. I don't know much about early and late die stages, but I was hoping also for someone more knowledgeable than I for answers.

It is not impossible to have a DDO or DDR, that shows Die deterioration or MD. The problem is that the OP's coin only has the O in OF in common with DDR-002. And that is even a stretch. At this point the die deterioration out weighs any apparent DDR IMO. This coin is nothing other than Die Deterioration. This coin doesn't even show any of the die markers for the variety.
Maybe you can get some better pics of liberty and united, @longarm if you think we are blowing smoke.

Better pics of united would help, because that's where it looks like there's moderate doubling and the dots also, but who knows for sure cause I never claimed to be an expert. All I intended to do was either figure out if it was or wasn't. I signed up at Coneca so we'll see what they say and yes, if I'm wrong I'll be happy to admit it.

The problem I have with varieties is they are too numerous and most only command minor premiums, if any. Talk about "rabbit holes."

The pics of United and Liberty will show the die markers. This can easily be put to rest with a few photos.

The die chip is a great die marker, It is also a common area for a worn die to break. This is why Wexler did not include it as a marker. But a good indicator that it has the possibility to be the DDR with major die deterioration.

At the top of VV They have asked for a copy to be sent in for die stage and markers.

I wish I had photos of the die scratches thru liberty. It doesn't look like they are there on your coin. Good details on the scratches thru United would be very helpful. Good luck with your project, and looking forward to some clearer photos.
