    If fools think that a copper look will get them rich I am going to start copper plating nickels, dimes & quarters! LOL

    Owning a coin shop does not automatically make someone an expert or give them years of experience!!! Also, friends often tell you what they think you want to hear not what you need to hear!!! Either situation can result in inaccurate information!! There is however something to be said for the ability to disappear instantly!!!

    @Randy Segura. Welcome to Coin Talk. In your first post on this site you claimed to have three close AM Lincoln Cents but never showed photos. Where are the pics?
    Now, if you're inferring that the OP's coin is a Dime struck on a copper cent planchet, please explain how the larger cent planchet would be struck in the smaller Dime chamber.

    I have lots of them from 1959 to 2015. Most think the white spots are from tarnish ect. But if you really look at them close it's actually a dime stamped over a Lincoln..

    No,the dime is normal and the cent is corroded/damaged.

    That in no way looks like a dime, it looks like damage. Send it in and see what happens.

    You need to see a doctor and take a Rorschach test if you think that.
    Like you have already been told it is impossible.

    Also, what would the white spots have to do with anything?

    @Randy Segura

    Many experienced numismatists have tried telling you that a dime can’t be struck on a cent planchet. It would be like trying to put an ½” nut on a 5/8” bolt. Not going to happen. The people taking the time to help you aren’t “just some guy at the bar with an opinion”. They’re experienced collectors who know and understand the minting process.

    If you are still insistent that you have something, the only way it will have any value is to have it authenticated. If your only proof is an opinion that “it looks like something under the corrosion”, coin dealers, error specialists, and ebay buyers will tell you the same thing, “it’s not what you think it is”. The only way for it to have any value is to have it authenticated. You can listen to the members, who are trying to keep you from wasting your money, but if you still don’t believe them, here are some links.

    www.pcgs.com
    www.ngccoin.com
    www.anacs.com

    They will have information on how to request authentication for error coins as well as how to send it in. Remember, without authentication confirmation, you’ll never realize any additional value. BTW: you need to pay the fees even if they determine it’s only damage (so save yourself $65+ per coin and listen to what the members are telling you)

    Darn, I really hate when you actually try to help someone and they turn out to be a troll.

    There were some other threads discussing the concern over how new members are treated. THIS is the reason why many members jump on newbies after a few posts. When you actually take the time to explain something, and the troll pops out of his hole, it's no wonder why members get upset.
